Why is it so hard to find a simple lip balm that uses the best ingredients, feels great on your lips and protects? Do the mega-companies really care? If you are ready to get back to basics, welcome to Ken’s Wicked Good Lip Balm. The next time you grab for your lip balm, check out the ingredients. What is that stuff? Do a search for Ozokerite, which is commonly found in other lip balms. Its basically the left over wax from millions of years of dried up petroleum. Its picked, treated, refined, refined again. Then is colored and made to look like…….beeswax. Why? Because its cheap. Ozokerite can be in my candles or my furnace, but not my lips.
Ken’s Wicked Good Lip Balm was started using the fresh beeswax from the hive in my backyard. The bees fill the frames with wax in order to store their honey, pollen, and of course raise their young. When they make honey they fill the frames with honey and then cap it with wax. Beekeepers do not use any chemicals during honey flow so the capping wax is about as pure as you can get. Its capping wax that I use to make Ken’s Wicked Good Lip Balm. I work with local beekeepers in Northern Maine to supply me with fresh wax “cappings”.
